Duncan Moody

Duncan Moody is a successful, self-motivated Information Technology professional who is focused on helping his clients reach their goals. He works well both in a team environment and alone, and has clear communication abilities and strong writing skills. He has extensive experience in all stages of the software development life cycle, systems support and consulting environments.

After studying computer science and business data processing, Duncan began his information technology career more than 20 years ago. Specializing in business software on the IBM i platform, including AS/400, iSeries and System i, Duncan's strong work ethic, and the ability to work alone or in a team environment, has gained him a reputation as a consultant who can truly be relied upon. Since making his home in North Carolina, he has consulted with clients from Georgia to Connecticut. His services have been sought by a variety of clients including leaders in the consumer products, beverage and communications industries. He formed Sabela Consulting, Inc. in 1999. Extensive knowledge of supply chain management, together with the APICS CPIM certification and degrees from Rhodes University and the University of South Africa provide him with a solid business platform.

Name and Logo

The Xhosa people are concentrated mainly in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa . Their language is isiXhosa or Xhosa, which is one of the eleven official languages of South Africa. Sabela is a Xhosa word (ubusabela - verb), meaning respond to a call, or to answer. The African elephant is known for the way it protects its young. The stylized logo symbolizes an adult elephant, it strong instinct to protect the young and the weak, and by inference, the instinct to "respond to a call".

Sabela Consulting, Inc. was founded in 1999 by Duncan Moody to provide a channel to market his skills as an independent contractor/consultant in the IBM midrange arena. The structure is flexible, providing services direct to the client, working through vendor management services, or subcontracting through larger Consulting Services. Sabela Consulting, Inc. also partners with other service providers to cover all your IT needs.
